Most school furniture suppliers are resellers, they buy from manufacturers and pass the product on. Nortek is different. We have designed and built school furniture ourselves at our Cheshire factory since 1976, giving us complete control over quality and the ability to offer bespoke configurations that catalogue suppliers simply cannot match.
Every piece we make uses fully welded, powder-coated steel frames. There are no bolt-together fixings to loosen over time and no third-party quality to worry about. Every order is backed by our warranty, and delivered and installed by our own experienced team. We respond to every quote request within two working days.

Not every room fits a standard product. Nortek manufactures bespoke school furniture across the full range: desks, storage units, DT workbenches, ICT workstations and specialist pieces. We can work to non-standard sizes, custom configurations and finishes matched to your existing scheme. Because we design and build in-house, our bespoke work carries the same quality standard and warranty as everything else we make.
Schools come to us for bespoke work when they need units built into an unusual space, furniture fitted to a specific room layout, or a solution that is not available from a catalogue. We work directly with heads of department, school business managers and project architects from brief through to installation.
What Our Customers Say
Delivery, Installation & Payment.
Nortek manages the full process from enquiry through to installation. Once you confirm your specification, we agree a lead time and arrange delivery and assembly using our own experienced installation team. Most standard orders are completed within four to eight weeks. Bespoke and specialist orders may require a longer lead time, which our team confirms at the point of quotation.
If your school is planning a summer refurbishment, place your order by the end of June to guarantee installation before the new school year begins. Purchase orders are welcome and finance packages are available for larger projects. We respond to every enquiry within two working days.
