Caledonia High School represents another major investment in practical and technical education in Scotland, providing students with high-quality facilities in which to develop valuable hands-on skills.
Nortek Group was specified to supply furniture from our heavy-duty Craftwork 2000 woodworking bench range, using a combination of two-person and four-person workstations across the three workshops.
To maximise the available teaching space, we developed a bespoke variation of our two-person Craftwork 2000 1260 bench. Rather than the standard dimensions, these benches were manufactured at 1500mm x 750mm, providing each pair of students with additional working area while maintaining an efficient classroom layout.
The third workshop was equipped with five of our four-person Craftwork 2000 1200 x 1200 woodworking benches, creating large collaborative workstations suitable for practical lessons and project work.
All of the Craftwork benches were manufactured with durable solid staved beech worktops and fitted with under-bench cupboards and additional side storage shelves. Integrating storage directly into the workstations helps teaching staff keep tools and equipment organised while reducing the need for separate storage furniture around the workshops.
Two Special Needs Variable Height workstations were also supplied, finished with bespoke staved beech tops to complement the surrounding Craftwork furniture. Their adjustable working height helps create a more flexible and accessible practical learning environment for students with different requirements.
