Alpha Data design high performance embedded computer systems and FPGA solutions for defence, aerospace and industrial applications – and they needed an assembly lab to meet that task. We created a clean, durable and ESD safe electronics workspace for their engineers in their new lab at their Edinburgh HQ.
As specialists in Industrial Work Benches and technical furniture for demanding environments, our brief was clear: deliver a high-performance, fully compliant ESD Safe Electronics Workspace tailored to Alpha Data’s workflow, floor space and future growth plans.
When you’re developing advanced embedded systems and FPGA solutions, precision isn’t optional. Alpha Data required robust Electronics Benches for assembly and testing, full ESD protection to safeguard sensitive components, and a layout that maximised available floor space. The environment also needed durable finishes suited to a modern industrial setting, along with a professional aesthetic aligned with their new HQ.
The solution had to support both design and production teams, ensuring reliability from prototyping through to final assembly.
For this installation, we supplied our Cee-Line Plus ESD Bench system — manufactured to a bespoke size, colour and finish to complement Alpha Data’s new workspace.
Each Electronics Assembly Bench was configured to support efficient working practices, with:

Our approach to Industrial Work Benches goes beyond simply supplying furniture. We work closely with clients to design layouts that improve productivity, movement flow and team collaboration — particularly important in technical assembly environments where efficiency and protection go hand in hand.
One of the key elements of this project was spatial optimisation. Working alongside Alpha Data’s team, we designed a layout that maximised usable floor area while maintaining comfortable working clearances and safe ESD grounding pathways.
By tailoring the dimensions and configuration of each ESD Safe Workbench, we ensured the lab could support current workloads while remaining flexible for future expansion.
Delivery and installation were carefully scheduled to minimise disruption to operations. Our team completed the install efficiently, ensuring each workstation was correctly grounded and tested to meet ESD compliance standards.
